How it works

How the questions and score work

The bank holds 40 questions in 5 areas. A run takes an equal number from each area, mixes easy and harder ones, and plays them in turn. The best answer earns 2 points, a partly right one 1, and a poor one 0. Your score is the share of points out of 100.

  • StarterYou know some of the words, and the basics are the best place to start. A few good habits will already save you money and risk.
  • AwareYou understand the main ideas and can follow a cloud conversation. Cost and security are where small gaps tend to hurt.
  • WorkingYou make sound everyday choices and spot the usual risks. You can ask the right questions of a vendor or a team.
  • ConfidentYou weigh trade-offs, question weak advice and know where the real risks sit, whichever provider is involved.

Questions describe situations in plain terms. Provider names appear only in the explanation after each answer. Reviewed on . A self-assessed quiz, not an accredited certification. CloudBrum is independent of AWS, Microsoft and Google.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Cloud Know-How Check?

It is a free quiz of short, real-life situations about cloud basics, cost, security, reliability and choosing between providers. You get feedback after each answer, a level (Starter, Aware, Working or Confident) and a list of what to learn next.

Is it about AWS, Azure or Google Cloud?

About all of them. The questions describe situations in plain terms and the best answer is the same on every cloud. Provider service names appear only in the explanation after each answer, so you can see what the idea is called on each cloud.

Is it a certification or an exam?

No. It is a self-check for your own use. After a check you can make a CloudBrum certificate of completion with your name on it, to keep or share. It says plainly that it is a self-assessed quiz: it is not an accredited certification, it does not prepare you for a provider exam, and CloudBrum is independent of AWS, Microsoft and Google.

Can I get a certificate to share?

Yes. When you finish a check, choose Get your certificate, type the name you want on it and download the image, or share it to LinkedIn, X, Facebook or WhatsApp. The image is drawn in your browser and your name is never sent or saved. It shows your level, score and the date, with the CloudBrum logo, watermark and web address.

How is my level worked out?

Each answer earns 2 points for the best choice, 1 for a partly right one and 0 for a poor one. Your score is the share of points you earned out of 100, with the same number of questions from each of the five areas. 85 and above is Confident, 60 and above is Working, 35 and above is Aware, and below that is Starter.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. Questions are chosen and scored in your browser. The page remembers only which questions you saw most recently, on your own device, so that a retake shows new ones. Your answers leave your device only if you copy a link, share on WhatsApp, send an email or open a consultation ticket.

Will I get the same questions every time?

No. The bank has 40 questions. Each run picks an equal number from the five areas, mixes easy and harder ones, and avoids the ones you saw last time when it can.
