Privacy Policy & Disclaimer

This page explains what personal data we collect, why, who sees it, how cookies and advertising (including Google) work on CloudBrum, and the rights you have. It also contains our content disclaimer.

Effective date: 10 October 2026Last updated: 14 October 2026Applies to: cloudbrum.com

Summary

  • We collect only what is needed: the details you type into our forms, and basic technical and usage data.
  • Our free tools (the service suggester, the migration readiness checklist and the Cloud Know-How Check) run in your browser. What you type is not sent to us unless you choose to share it or send it to us.
  • You can install CloudBrum as an app. It saves pages on your device so they open offline (see CloudBrum app and offline use).
  • We do not sell your personal data.
  • Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to show ads on this site. You can opt out of personalised ads (see Cookies and advertising).
  • You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or withdraw consent, any time at hello@cloudbrum.com.
  • We are an independent site and not affiliated with AWS, Microsoft or Google (see the Disclaimer).

We do not ask for sensitive personal data such as passwords, payment-card details, health or financial information, or government ID numbers on the Website. Please do not type them into our forms. Our forms use a hidden spam-protection field, rate limits and Google reCAPTCHA to stop bots. reCAPTCHA is loaded only when you start using a form; it checks how you interact with the page and receives your IP address, browser details and similar signals, and Google handles that data under the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Cookies and advertising

Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small file stored on your device. We also use similar technologies such as your browser’s local storage. They fall into these groups:

TypePurposeCan you refuse?
EssentialSecurity, load balancing, remembering your cookie choiceNo (needed for the Website to work)
PreferencesLocal storage that remembers your like or dislike, bookmarks, chosen AI assistant, light or dark mode and similar settingsYes: clear your browser data
App and offline usePages, images and fonts saved in your browser’s cache, and a small note in local storage, so pages open faster and offline (see CloudBrum app and offline use)Yes: clear site data or uninstall the app
AnalyticsCounting visits and seeing which pages help readers. We use Google Analytics for this; you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-onYes
AdvertisingShowing and measuring ads, limiting repeats, and, where allowed, personalising adsYes

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, parts of the Website may not work as intended.

Google advertising

We may use Google AdSense, Google Ad Manager and related Google services to show ads. We want to be open about how this works:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Google and other vendors may use identifiers, IP address and device information to show, limit and measure ads and to prevent fraud.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info (or youradchoices.com; in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu).
  • To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, and Google’s Privacy Policy.

Other ad and recommendation partners

We may also show content from other advertising or recommendation partners (for example a native-ads provider). They may set their own cookies. Such content is labelled “Sponsored content” or “Advertisement”. We select partners that offer opt-out choices and ask you to check their privacy policies.

Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent through a consent management platform before using cookies or similar technologies for personalised advertising, and you can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link. If you decline, we may show non-personalised ads.

Analytics

We may use privacy-conscious analytics, such as Google Analytics, to understand traffic. If we do, we configure it to limit the data collected (for example by shortening IP addresses) and you can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

AI features and third-party links

The optional “Ask AI” button helps you ask a question about the page you are reading. When you press Ask AI:

  • We open the AI assistant you chose (ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Microsoft Copilot or Perplexity) in a new tab, and place your typed question together with the page name, its address and a one-line summary in the request. This is so that the assistant understands what you are reading.
  • The text goes directly from your browser to that provider. We do not receive or store your question, and the provider’s own terms and privacy policy apply to it.
  • Do not include confidential, personal or sensitive information in your question.
  • AI answers can be wrong. Check important details in the official documentation.

Certificate of completion. After the Cloud Know-How Check you can type a name and get a certificate image. The name is drawn on the image in your browser; it is not sent to us or stored, and it is not part of the shared link. If you download or share the image, what happens to it after that is up to you and the platform you post it on.

Hand-off buttons in our tools. The service suggester, the migration readiness checklist and the Cloud Know-How Check have buttons to copy a summary or link, share on WhatsApp, send an email, open an AI assistant, or open a consultation ticket. Nothing is sent until you press one. When you do, the text of your use case or answers and the results go to the service you chose (WhatsApp, your email app or the AI provider) or, for a consultation ticket, to CloudBrum when you submit the form. For the ticket button we keep a copy of your summary in your browser tab’s session storage so the form can be pre-filled; it is cleared when you close the tab.

A shared link contains your answers in its web address, so anyone who has the link can read them. Do not share it if the details are confidential.

Our pages also link to other websites, such as official AWS, Azure and Google Cloud documentation. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to read their policies.

CloudBrum app and offline use

You can install CloudBrum on your phone or computer as an app (a progressive web app) with the Install app button in the header, the link in the footer, or your browser’s own install option. It is optional, it is not distributed through an app store, and it needs no account.

  • What is saved on your device: copies of pages, images and fonts you open, kept in your browser’s cache so they load faster and recent pages can be shown when you are offline; and a small record in local storage (a page-view count, the date you last dismissed the install reminder, and the titles and addresses of the last 10 pages you opened, used for the offline page). Pages are fetched fresh whenever you are online.
  • What we do not do: the app does not ask for permission to use your camera, microphone, location, contacts or notifications, and this saved data is not sent to us.
  • Other websites: advertising, analytics and other third-party content are not saved for offline use. They work only when you are online, under the rules in Cookies and advertising.
  • Removing it: uninstall the app like any other app (from your home screen or your browser’s apps page), and clear site data in your browser settings to delete the saved pages and records.
  • Updates: the app updates itself from the website when you are online. We may change or withdraw it at any time.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in these cases:

  • Service providers that work for us under contract, such as web hosting, email delivery, form handling, analytics and security services. They may use the data only to provide their service to us.
  • Form handling. What you submit through a form is received by our own server on Microsoft Azure, saved in a Google Sheets spreadsheet that only our team can open, and e-mailed to our team mailbox. Google (reCAPTCHA and Google Sheets) and Microsoft (hosting) process it only to provide those services to us.
  • Advertising partners, as described above, receive cookie and device data when you load a page that shows their ads.
  • Legal reasons. We may disclose data if required by law, court order or a lawful request by a government authority in India, or to protect our rights, our users or the security of the Website.
  • Business changes. If our business is merged, sold or reorganised, data may move to the successor, who must honour this Policy.

How long we keep data

  • Newsletter and PDF requests: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your email.
  • Contact, feedback and issue messages: up to 24 months after we close the matter, unless a longer period is needed for legal reasons.
  • Server logs: normally 12 months or less.
  • Browser storage (votes, bookmarks, preferences, app records and saved pages): stays on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app.
  • Session storage used to pre-fill a consultation ticket: cleared when you close the browser tab.

After this we delete or anonymise the data, unless the law requires us to keep it.

How we protect data

We use reasonable security safeguards suitable for our size, such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, spam and abuse protection, and restricting access to personal data to people who need it. No online service is 100% secure. If a personal data breach affects you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

Where data is processed

Our hosting and service providers may store or process data on servers in India or in other countries. Where we transfer personal data outside India, we do so in line with the DPDP Act and the restrictions the Government of India may notify, and we choose providers that protect data with appropriate safeguards.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we process about you and with whom it is shared;
  • Correct or complete inaccurate or incomplete data, and erase data that is no longer needed;
  • Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect past processing);
  • Grievance redressal, and, if you are not satisfied, to complain to the Data Protection Board of India;
  • Nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to act.

To use these rights, write to hello@cloudbrum.com from the email address you used with us. We may need to verify your identity. We reply within 30 days, or sooner where the law requires. To unsubscribe from emails, use the unsubscribe link in any email or write to us.

If the GDPR, UK GDPR or similar laws apply to you, you may also have the rights of objection, restriction and portability, and the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA; we do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising except through the ad cookies you can opt out of above.

Children

The Website is not directed at children under 13 and is not intended to collect personal data from them. Under the DPDP Act we do not knowingly process the personal data of a child (under 18) without verifiable parental consent, and we do not track or show behaviourally targeted advertising to children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.

Disclaimer

Independent site, no affiliation

CloudBrum is an independent website. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Amazon Web Services, Microsoft or Google. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and all related names, logos and service names are trademarks of their owners and are used only to identify the services described.

General information only

All content is provided for general information and education. It is not professional, legal, financial, tax, security or compliance advice. Use your own judgement and consult a qualified professional before making decisions that affect your business.

Accuracy and prices

Cloud features, limits, regions, security guidance and especially prices change often. Although we review our pages and show a last-reviewed date, we make no promise that information is complete, accurate or current. Always confirm with official provider documentation, pricing pages, calculators and service agreements.

Tools, checklists and comparisons

The service suggester, migration readiness checklist, cloud changes tracker and free tier comparison give general starting points. They are built from simple rules and from provider information we reviewed on the date shown on each page. They are not a design review, an audit, a security or compliance assessment, a cost estimate or professional advice. Scores, labels and suggested approaches are indicative only and depend on honest and complete answers. Services are renamed, closed and added often, and free offers, credits, eligibility rules and prices change. Confirm everything on the provider’s own pages and with a qualified professional before you decide. We do not guarantee savings, readiness, compliance, certification or any other outcome from using them.

Offline copies and the app

Pages saved on your device for offline use may be out of date; reconnect to see the latest version. The app is provided “as is” and may not work in every browser or on every device.

Code, commands and templates

Examples are for learning. Run them first in a test environment. You are responsible for any cost, data loss, outage or security impact that results from using them.

External links and advertising

We are not responsible for the content, products or privacy practices of external sites or advertisers. Advertising is labelled and does not influence our editorial content. If we ever use affiliate or sponsored links inside an article, we will state this on the page.

AI-generated answers

Answers from AI assistants that you open through our “Ask AI” button are produced by third parties, may be inaccurate and are not reviewed by us.

Professional certifications and interviews

Interview questions and learning material are for practice. We do not guarantee any certification result, job offer or interview outcome.

Trademarks, logos, icons, images and copyrights

All product and company names, service names, logos, icons, images, screenshots, diagrams and other marks shown on CloudBrum belong to their respective owners, including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, Google and other companies and organisations. They are used only to identify and describe the products and services we write about (nominative or editorial use). Their use does not mean that the owner sponsors, endorses or is connected with CloudBrum, and it does not give you any right to use them.

Excerpts, names and documentation from provider and third-party sources remain the copyright of their publishers, and we credit them in each page’s References list. Where an icon or logo is replaced by a simple illustration, it is our own artwork. If you are an owner and want any mark, image or text changed, credited or removed, write to our Grievance Officer (see the Terms & Conditions) with the page address and proof of ownership, and we will act promptly.

Limitation

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of or reliance on the Website. See section 10 of our Terms & Conditions.

Reporting an error or a rights concern

Use the Report an issue button on any page, or write to the Grievance Officer above, if you find a mistake or believe something infringes your rights. We will review it promptly.
